Renewable Energy
REE Energy aims to become a leading investor in renewable energy in Vietnam, with an increased focus on solar and wind energy in the coming years. Currently, REE Energy owns six subsidiaries and eight associate companies.
REE Solar Energy
REE Solar Energy (“REESE”) is a clean energy solutions developer that serves large multinational and domestic firms throughout Vietnam. REESE’s clean energy solutions include Rooftop Solar systems and Ground Energy systems.
Focused on rooftop solar projects, REESE invests and manages the projects, and provides the design, engineering, equipment, government approvals, installation, and long-term maintenance of solar systems. All electricity produced through REESE’s solar projects is then provided to clients at agreed rates lower than when purchased from the local power grid.
REESE’s project sites are typically large production and warehouse facilities with electric demand from one to ten megawatts with existing clients including Dong Tam, TBS, AA Corporation, Hoa Sen, TCM, etc.
Wind Power
REE continues to invest in wind power projects to encourage and promote the use of clean energy in business operations. At the same time, the company focuses on operating its existing wind power projects efficiently to contribute green energy to the national electricity output.
In 2021, Tra Vinh V1-3, Phu Lac 2 and Loi Hai 2 wind farms began commercial operation.
REE’s wind power plants enjoy a fixed preferential electricity selling price policy (FiT) for 20 years: US 9.8 cents/kWh (for offshore wind power projects) and US 8.5 cents/kWh (for onshore wind power projects).
Hydropower
Hydropower is a clean and renewable energy source with low input material costs, and is considered a key driver for national economic development.
REE has invested in ten hydropower companies, including four
subsidiaries and six associate companies, with a total designed
capacity of 1,268 MW.
